Evidence-Based Therapies & Approaches
Evidence-based therapies are used because they are grounded in research and have been shown to be effective in helping people reduce symptoms, build coping skills, and create meaningful change. These approaches rely on methods that have been studied across diverse populations, allowing treatment to be both intentional and responsive rather than based on guesswork. Using evidence-based practices helps ensure therapy is ethical, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s goals —providing tools that are proven to support healing, resilience, and long-term well-being.

Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy
Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy is an evidence-based treatment for trauma and PTSD that helps individuals gradually and safely confront trauma-related memories, feelings, and situations they may have been avoiding. Through guided exposure, clients learn that these experiences, while uncomfortable, are not dangerous and can be tolerated. Over time, this process reduces trauma-related distress, decreases avoidance, and helps individuals regain a sense of control and confidence in their daily lives. PE is structured, collaborative, and paced to support healing while prioritizing safety and empowerment.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is an evidence-based, trauma-focused treatment designed to help individuals recover from PTSD and trauma-related distress. CPT focuses on identifying and challenging unhelpful beliefs related to the trauma — such as thoughts about safety, trust, control, self-worth, or blame — that may be keeping someone stuck. Through structured, collaborative work, clients learn to develop more balanced and compassionate ways of understanding their experiences, which can reduce symptoms, improve emotional regulation, and support long-term healing and resilience.

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is an evidence-based treatment most commonly used for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). ERP helps individuals gradually face feared thoughts, images, or situations (exposure) while learning to resist compulsive behaviors or mental rituals (response prevention). Over time, this process reduces anxiety, weakens the cycle of obsessions and compulsions, and builds confidence in tolerating uncertainty. ERP is structured, collaborative, and paced to support lasting symptom relief and increased daily functioning.

Brainspotting (BSP)
Brainspotting is a brain-body focused therapy that uses focused eye positions and mindful awareness to help individuals process difficult or overwhelming experiences. By bringing attention to the connection between emotions, body sensations, and visual focus, Brainspotting can support the processing of trauma, anxiety, grief, and other experiences that may feel difficult to put into words. The approach is collaborative, individualized, and designed to help clients access their own internal resources for healing.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Prolonged Grief Therapy (PGT)
Prolonged Grief Therapy is designed for individuals experiencing persistent and intense grief that interferes with daily life. This treatment helps clients process the loss, cope with painful emotions, and reconnect with meaningful activities and relationships.
Co-Ocurring Prolonged Exposure (COPE)
COPE is an integrated treatment for individuals experiencing both post-traumatic stress and substance use concerns. It combines trauma-focused therapy with relapse prevention strategies to help clients address both conditions simultaneously.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)
CBT-I is an evidence-based treatment for chronic sleep difficulties. It helps individuals identify and change thoughts, behaviors, and habits that interfere with sleep, leading to improved sleep quality and overall well-being.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Internal Family Systems is a compassionate, parts-based approach that helps individuals understand the different aspects of themselves, such as protective, wounded, or critical parts. Clients learn to develop greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and internal balance.
